A newly created forum account has published what it claims are GitHub credentials associated with Deloitte’s U.S. Consulting division, alleging they provide access to a private repository. The claims have not been independently verified, and there is currently no evidence confirming unauthorized access to Deloitte’s systems.

The post, published on July 7, advertises the credentials as a free leak rather than a sale and includes what appears to be a link to a private GitHub repository. While the listing is accompanied by a screenshot, it does not provide sufficient technical evidence to independently verify the authenticity of the alleged credentials or determine whether any Deloitte systems were compromised.

Limited evidence accompanies the claim

The forum account behind the listing has little publicly visible history, making it difficult to assess the credibility of the alleged breach. At the time of publication, the account had only recently been created and had not established a track record of previous disclosures or verified compromises.

The post does not explain how the alleged credentials were obtained, whether they remain valid, or whether any source code, internal documentation, or customer information was accessed. BreachNews reviewed the material accompanying the listing but found insufficient evidence to independently verify the claims.

GitHub credentials can expose development environments

If authentic, GitHub credentials could provide access to private repositories containing proprietary source code, development documentation, configuration files, and deployment workflows. Depending on the permissions associated with the account, attackers could also gain visibility into software development pipelines and connected cloud environments.

Recent alleged breaches have increasingly focused on development infrastructure rather than traditional customer databases. Earlier this month, BreachNews reported on an alleged Accenture breach involving source code and cloud credentials, although there is currently no evidence linking the two incidents.
